Prof. Dr. Eng. George J. Dimitrakopoulos (IEEE member) is with the Department of Informatics and Telematics, Harokopio University of Athens, Greece (2010-) as an Associate Professor, as well as with Infineon Technologies AG (ext.), department of Research and Development Funding (2018-). He is listed in the world’s top 2% of scientists according to Stanford University Rankings (2021, 2022). He has received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2002) and his PhD (2007), from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the University of Piraeus, respectively.
He has been working since 2002 in more than 40 EU funded research and development projects. His research interests include the design and development of strategies for the optimization of vehicular wireless networks based on cognitive networking principles. He is the author of 3 books and of about 200 publications in international journals and conferences.
